Finding Family

One woman's obsession with family history.

Christmas in Australia

Manly Beach on a Public Holiday

It seems like only yesterday that late August rolled around and I recoiled in horror at the sight of Christmas decorations being set up in both Myer and David Jones. Four months passed in the blink of an eye and Christmas and the New Year are once again upon us and I am (now) feeling a lot more festive.

The year has been a busy one and was filled with new information and clues. There were new newspaper articles which changed my view of events, confirmation of the shady dealings that one of my ancestors was involved in and new photos provided by distant cousins which meant that I could finally look upon the faces of my Great Great Grandparents.

All in all it’s been a pretty successful year of family history. I’ve learnt a lot and I’ve continued to grow. That, I feel, is something of great importance.

Thank you to all who have supported Finding Family throughout the year of 2014 by either reading, commenting or liking a post either on this site or on Facebook. The support is always greatly appreciated.

Here’s hoping 2015 is just as successful with your family history research and may your records be plentiful, mysteries solved and ancestors discovered.

Merry Christmas to you and your family and best wishes for a safe and happy New Year.
