I know I’ve already posted today but I simply could not contain my excitement. The majority of my family tree has been painstakingly researched through the use of the world wide web. Most of the the Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) are available online, but not all. Whenever a clue pointed to a relative’s possible birth in a state such as Victoria or South Australia, I would happily visit the State Library after work and sift through their records on CD. It didn’t bother me too much but coming from work, it was tiresome. Tonight, I have discovered whilst doing some general research, that the Australian BDM records on now on Ancestry.com.au. For everyone else it might not be world breaking news but for me, it is. My searching has just become ten times easier and I could not be happier!
Visit www.ancestry.com.au to search these records as well as many more. Happy searching!
